stepping out of your comfort zone

in collaboration with @fever_ishlyflawsome on instagram and our very own amina al anwar and mariam refaat.

We’ve made homes out of our comfort zones; trapped ourselves within them beyond fortresses of fear and doubt. We find ourselves constrained by our comfort zones and confined by the thought of our relaxed anxiety free zone. Feeling in control of our environment and blinded by our own state, we stray from our targets and desires. It’s tempting to stay in there. A place where there is no embarrassment, no fallouts, no mistakes and no regrets. It’s so easy for us to feel fulfilled when we’re surrounded by the comfort of everything we grew accustomed to, the little countable experiences we’ve had that we shelter ourselves within that we tend to forget the uncountable experiences we still haven’t had. The currents of the known will always be far more welcoming than the lonely dark aisles of the unknown. However, all the exciting things really do happen when you get out of your comfort zones. Yes, not all endeavors will be glamorous, but these are the ones that will help you grow. We learn through experiences more than anything eIse, our experiences and those of others. We always have to take that risky, unpaved road, towards the oblivion we may fear but our only way out towards our pride, hope and almost perfection. The hunger for newness in our lives is inevitable, and taking even one step out of our comfort zone unleashes great potential we never thought we had. Once you start facing all the discomfort that’s out of your safe haven, you’ll not only thrive, but you’ll inspire and help others too. As much as it is hard to let go of our cosy self-built zone; just remember it only takes one step forward towards endless adventures, unforgettable experiences and towards several roads waiting for you to discover. Go out, take up different hobbies, walk in places you haven’t before, give something you never thought you’d like a chance or make a different group of friends. The world needs more brave people, people who are willing to try, willing to evolve and willing to show others what happens when we get out of our comfort zones. It’s about time that we dare to step out of our comfort zones. It’s about time that we live on our own terms and stop restricting ourselves.
