light at the end of the tunnel

Sometimes I wonder, "what's the one factor that keeps us going? How could we've endured all of this without giving up on life, not even once?"  The answer might be different for you, for me, for her, for him, for them but the specific factor that created the existence of that reasoning within our consciousness is one; light at the end of the tunnel.

No matter how unmanageable life may get, the only thing we believe in is that there's always light at the end of the tunnel, regardless of how cliché and nonsensical that may be.

Life seems like a fairytale in our heads, it doesn't seem authentic, like a simulation of some sort where we try our best to get through one hurdle after the other but somehow manage to always end up finding our happily ever after.

You're trying to find ultimate contentment? Then, you believe in the 'light at the end of the tunnel' mindset.
You're trying to make your legal guardians and those who helped you growing up proud of you? Then, you believe in the 'light at the end of the tunnel' mindset.
You're trying to find a place where you fit in? Then, you believe in the 'light at the end of the tunnel' mindset.
You're trying to acquire lots of money and be prosperous? Then, you believe in the 'light at the end of the tunnel' mindset.
You're trying to help those in need? Then, you believe in the 'light at the end of the tunnel' mindset.

Whatever ultimate goal that you use to convince yourself worthy of going forward and never giving up, it always points to the 'light at the end of the tunnel' mindset.

We always believe in the greater good that might sometimes, if not most times, cause us to think of our hardships as reprehensible purposes to give up and that's what keeps us driven.

Life is, actually, like a book and not a fairytale, a modern book in the 'best reads!' section at your local bookstore, to be more explicit;
you're the protagonist, the plot revolves around you, the storyline consists of misfortunes that would only happen to a personage like you and that's what makes the book a bestseller;
the unique story that can't just happen to anyone, but can only happen to the protagonist.

However, the one factor that keeps us going even though the complexities in our lives are so different from those of others and even though they make us feel lonely is the existence of light at the end of the tunnel..... always.
