Dangerous Daydreams

As I get up and walk, my mind wanders far away.

It explores the ordinary, the mediocre and the mundane.

It illustrates the scenes in which I get to be whoever I please.

I'm altruistic and heroic in my daydreams.

I'll say the right statement at the right time.

I'll steal your heart with my irresistible energy.

But when hours are wasted, I finally come back to life.

I'm myself again, but who could that be?

Reality is silent and indifferent, and it definitely isn't as full as my fantasies.

However smooth fantasies flow, out of it comes no growth.

And though reality is full of thorns, the joy of it is real.

So I teach myself to get up and walk and keep my mind from wandering away from me.

Because the only time to be is now, and the only place to be is here.
