On Knowing Yourself.

You need to say that you are your own person and you need to mean it.

You need to know yourself.

Know who you are. Know your beliefs, standards and priorities. Know your likes and dislikes. Know how you deal with your feelings or how you would like to deal with them.
Know the way your eyes dim when you’re stressed, the way your mouth curves when you’re about to laugh and the way you reflect your emotions when you’re on the verge of a mental breakdown or breakthrough; the way you do about your loved ones.
Know which of your qualities take a toll on you and which bring out the best in you.

Then once you finally have a clear and positive idea of yourself, be ready to unlearn and relearn every single day; because we are always changing and evolving and it’s unfair to you that you cram the space needed to do that.

For when you’re on this never-ending journey of self-discovery, everything becomes clearer.
And the day you stress about someone leaving you behind, you can easily say “I know everything that I am, and I know it’s not for everyone”.

Life is a perfect paradox and so are you.
