Self-Comfort

I guess we sometimes forget the value of self-comfort

Our need to pat our own selves on the back

Or whisper to ourselves that we are fine, that we are doing great, that we are proud of us.

We wait for a particular text

A certain person to be there

A goal that we want to achieve.

Though something matters more shall come from within.

Satisfaction.

And in times of defeat let’s count every single achievement

Every good friend

Every supportive family member

Every beautiful feature we see on our own faces

Every time we spoke with our heads held high

I guess we sometimes forget the value of self-comfort,

but sometimes all we need is a pat on the back, using the only hand we know too well, our own.
