Her (2013)

Her is unlike anything you've ever seen before. It feels like it wasn't supposed to work but it did. It felt like a story like that was bound to be a best-selling novel, not a film. It was written beautifully, and directed as so. despite being set in the near future, it didn't distract us from the fact that it's as human as a story could ever get, a love story, between a computer and a human. The idea is insanely intelligent and original. Few movies capture the magic and the heartbreak of falling in love in an unexpected way, Her is one of them. The cinematography is artistic and gorgeous and the "future" tone is extremely pleasing to be looked at. The score mixed with the directing and aesthetic shots is soulful and magnificent. All of the cast's performance was amazing. Joaquin Phoenix is just so unbelievably good at acting that it should be a crime, his performance here is arguably his best performance after Joker. Amy Adams is great, that's nothing new. But even Scarlett Johansson whom I never thought was a top class actor did an extraordinary job with her voice, it was so heartfelt. Likely to leave an overwhelming and bittersweet impact after watching it, it's truely beautiful. Overall one of the best movies i've seen in a very long time. Refreshingly creative.
