Signs of Emotional Maturity

How many years have passed by before you started to realize that you’re now acting differently? Now, you have gained the courage to actually change what needs to be changed.

We don't acquire such wisdom without going through all sorts of struggle, only then can we acquire what psychologists call ‘emotional maturity.’

Let's track the signs of emotional maturity that show people’s growth throughout every conflict they go through.

1. Taking responsibility
If you have reached emotional maturity, you will be taking responsibility for your actions. This will result in less complaining, less blame and you'll have a more action-oriented thinking of what you can do to change your behavior or current situation.

2. Showing empathy
That's when you become more able to put yourself in other people's shoes, they talk with people and not at them, knowing that judgments are often based on perconceived notions, which can impede their ability to know someone's truth.

3. Being unafraid of showing vulnerability
You're letting go of perfectionism, and you are able to appear the way you truly feel with no fears.

4. Recognizing and accepting needs
When you reach emotional maturity, you'll realize when you're burnt out and need a break or need less human interaction

5.Knowing that we don't know everything
An emotionally mature person knows that their way of doing things might not be the right way or even the best way. They don't argue for the sake of arguing or to show who's in charge. They keep an open mind and open ears.

How many signs do you have and how many do you still need to work on?
