Ain’t It Hard Keeping It So Hardcore?

Dear beautiful self,

I know you’re so so tired of everything; of it all. But let me tell you something, it’s so okay to be tired that much and to feel lonely after always being there for whoever needs you. You’re awesome!

Just learn to be comfortable in the uncomfortable and it will all flow. Learn to love your solitude; your own company.

Be alone. Eat alone. Take yourself on dates, lots and lots of dates. Sit alone. In the midst of this, you will learn who you are. I know it’s a spiritual challenge but you’ll be free once you know things about yourself. You will grow. You will figure out what inspires you. You will create your own dreams, your own beliefs, your own stunning clarity. And if you do meet someone who makes your cells dance, you’ll be sure of it because you’re sure of who you are.

And let me tell you something else.

Sometimes you’ll need yourself more than anything else. It’s totally okay to take a break from people. To have yourself for yourself. There’s nothing wrong with wanting space. Or time. Or isolation. I’m not saying that you have to cut yourself from life, I’m just saying that you don’t have to be in the moment and lose yourself.

Choose a movie or series marathon over a party or outing if it’s not to your liking.
Throw your attention to the stars if it’s distracted elsewhere.
Sleep in on the weekends and let your responsibilities realise that they’ve done you bad for taking you for granted.
Tell those around you that you’re checking out till you be yourself again.
Be honest enough and let them know it gets too heavy sometimes.

There is nothing wrong with carving out a shelter apart from this world and dimension as a whole and putting a pause for a while.

It’s got nothing to do with anyone or anything else, it’s about you!

Take care of yourself, even if it means you have to put life on hold for a bit, and even though life doesn’t wait for you. Let it pass as you take your time as well. Time goes on, but we can pretend like it doesn’t. Because sometimes you’re just ready to go for no reason, and you can’t even explain it to yourself.

Take mental health days.
Take daily breathers.
You’re not weak, NEVER! This is how you stay strong and get back on track.

I love you, beautiful self.
