10 One Direction Songs That Will Make You Stan Their Music

When people think about boybands, their immediate thought is a bunch of untalented teenagers singing cringey songs about love and heartbreak, but that isn’t entirely true. So, in celebration of One Direction’s 10th anniversary, and being the huge fangirl I am, here’s a list of ten (+ three bonus songs) 1D songs that will change this stereotype and make you end up stanning their music.

1-Walking In The Wind

2-I Want
Originally written for Miley Cyrus, this song, with its retro rock vibe and Beatles-like beat, is one of the most unique songs on the Up All Night album.

3-Home
This song reached massive success, despite not being on the official tracklist. The fans made an online promo project for the song, streaming it non-stop for over a month and tweeting about it continuously under the hashtag “ProjectHome”. The project eventually reached the bandmembers and several radio stations started airing the song, all thanks to the successful fan-led promo! This just scratches the surface of how well-written and beautifully produced this song is.

4-Stockholm Syndrome

5-If I Could Fly
It’s the sixth track from their latest album. Apart from being a lyrical masterpiece, it also has a gentle beat and a very romantic meaning behind it; which is being vulnerable after being separated from your partner.

6-Happily

7-Don’t Forget Where You Belong
Obvious from the title, this song about sticking to your roots and origins and being proud of them. One of the things that make it even more special, is that Niall Horan wrote it in a songwriting session with Danny, Dougie and Tom from the band McFly.

8-Right Now

9-Moments:
Not only is it written by the amazing Ed Sheeran, but also, according to fans’ theories, this song is about a lover who loses his partner to suicide, so yes, this is just a glimpse of how heartbreaking it is. It can be a bit cheesy but it’s perfect for the hopeless romantics😌

10-Long Way Down
“Being at the top for so long and then going away from it, a huge come down. It can also be about a relationship that you really wanted to work but it just hasn’t quite fit together yet.” -Liam Payne on how this song relates to both the band and relationships. Brb gotta go cry.

11-Strong

12- Half A Heart

13-Never Enough
Headphone users, you might want to lower the volume to this one.👀
